Statement of Purpose

This site is not the property nor the official mouthpiece of the Dameron-Damron Family Association. I gladly, willingly and, perhaps, presumptuously, took it upon myself to establish and maintain an unofficial page for the DDFA. This was entirely upon my own initiative and expense.

The page was initially labeled as an unofficial DDFA site but at the request of some board members this qualifier was removed. However, it is not technically an official organ of the organization. That is the role of THE DAMERON-DAMRON FAMILY NEWSLETTER. Thus, this page must be considered a quasi-official site of the DDFA maintained by an individual. Recent comments by one or two individuals have indicated that they feel that they can dictate the contents of the site as it displays the DDFA name.  Because of this attitude, the "unofficial" statement has been returned to the page.  Also, the title has been altered to more accurately reflect its nature as a personal site.

This site is not meant to become a large database of information. This restriction is dictated by the limited storage space my server allots to its members and, also, by the fact that I do have other projects and interests. My intention has been to provide a base of limited information concerning the organization and, hopefully, a central site where websites of Dameron-Damron researchers could be linked. This has been occurring at a snail's pace.

Members of DDFA are encouraged to create their own DDFA related web pages to be linked to this site. Any criticism of this site is of the product of my personal efforts. There have been a few rude, impertinent comments that do not merit response. Any errors or misstatements must be understood to be mine and not those of the DDFA.   Those feeling that more information or the type of information they wish to see must be part of the site can create pages which may possibly be linked to on this site.

I have attempted to edit the Dameron-Damron Family Newsletter for the last several issues but the time is coming when the task should be passed on to another person.  The form that this site will take is yet to be determined.
